Do a call out to your students and campus networks to join in on May 5th 2019 and run for those who can’t and raise money for spinal cord research.
It’s a truly global event, no matter where you are in the world you start at the same moment. In Sydney the race starts at 9pm however in Paris, France its 11am, in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil its 8am and in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates its 2pm. No matter what time zone or country, you start at the same moment and run together, which means that you’re competing against people all over the globe!
There is no finish line! For example, the race will start at 9pm in Sydney and 30 minutes later a catcher car will start behind you, this car slowly picks up speed and passes competitors, when it does so it records your name and time on the national and global leader board and eliminates you out of the race.
Because there is no finish line it’s an event for all abilities, there are people who run 80km and there are people recovering from spinal cord injuries who walk assisted a few hundred metres. All are welcome! This is a wheelchair friendly event and we would love to see those with spinal cord injuries taking part and enjoying themselves.
You must download the Wings For LifeWorld Run app and follow the prompts to register at the most relevant location for you. The cost to enter is $15 dollars and 100% of this goes towards spinal cord injury research.
The most important point to make is that 100% of all proceeds raised goes towards spinal cord research. Its not a matter of ‘if’ spinal cord injuries can be cured, it’s a matter of ‘when’ and we need your help, every registration counts.
