A successful launch for the TAG Discovery Box

If you were at CampusLink 2019, you may have seen Craig Matthews' presentation on 'Remaining Relevant in a time of Retailing Innovation'.

The session related to a challenge we particularly face here at the TAG office with a steady stream of suppliers keen to crack the student market. We turn a number away, the others we introduce to members through our e-newsletters, Facebook groups and here on the website.

But, how do you know whether to range their products? How do the products taste? Will they be suitable for ranging on your campus? All relevant and real questions to consider.

Cue in the TAG Discovery Box! We are very pleased to report that our new TAG Discovery Box, an initiative to create a more inclusive approach to product ranging for members, has enjoyed a successful launch.

The program is 100% TAG branded and only promotes products from partners that are already engaged or, looking to engage in the TAG program that supports our 155 campus locations nationally.

Powered by Stock Box, this program provides TAG members with an opportunity to try out and test physical samples of supplier products, for range inclusion.

An ability for members to give feedback is part of the process. This provides TAG with clarity around potential product up-take and makes ranging decisions a little easier for management teams.

Product partners benefit from quicker ranging decisions and a better take-up rate. The box provides the first step to being awarded TAG Endorsed Supplier status.

For Stock Box it is an opportunity to engage with more product partners and, showcase the benefits of the greater Stock Box program, creating a win-win-win for all parties.

The first cycle went out to 137 TAG sites in May and based upon the feedback received from members, we are progressing relationships with two or three of the products featured in that box.

The program will cycle four times a year initially, and grow as more partners come on board.

The box is delivered directly to each member outlet, to ensure that all relevant TAG member staff have a voice in the sourcing of new and exciting products for the group.

Alternatively, if you would prefer to distribute the box yourself to your outlets, can you please send me your direct delivery address along with how many boxes you require.

To assist in the gathering of the feedback that is a critical component of the program, can you please ensure that you send me an email address for each of your outlets receiving a box.
